Capsule Summary
There are three known versions of Joyce Hatto’s Liszt Transcendental Études. The original release of CACD 9084-2 duplicates all twelve tracks from the László Simon recording with no tempo manipulation. Later pressings of the same catalog number substitute Minoru Nojima’s performance of Feux-follets and boost the sound considerably. The final revision was issued as a “Revised Edition” with a new booklet under catalog number CACD 9259-2. It uses the same Nojima track, but sped up by 0.91%.
