Capsule Summary

The Chopin/Godowsky Etudes were first issued as single CDs and later reissued in a deluxe slipcase box edition under a new catalog number. So far, only the single CDs have been examined thoroughly. This second volume continues the Chopin–Godowsky Etudes, performed by Carlo Grante, Marc-André Hamelin, and Ian Hobson. Seventeen Etudes are by Grante, seven by Hamelin, and three by Hobson. Twenty of the twenty-seven tracks have been digitally sped up. The most extreme case is Track 4, which is sped up by just over 20%. A direct comparison between the Hobson original and the accelerated Hatto version is startling.
